Biography

Martijn Vastenburg (1975) is assistant professor and project leader in the area of intelligent products and smart environments. His research interests include the design of ambient assisted living applications, intelligent products, activity awareness and user modelling. He received his M.Sc. in Computer Science (1999), and worked as a prototype developer at the Dutch Aerospace Laboratory NLR for three years. In 2007, he obtained his PhD degree in modelling user experiences for considerate home products at the Faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at Delft University. At present, he is project leader of the 4-year research project Independent at Home.
