Welcome at the website of the Reliability and Durability Group of the Faculty Industrial Design Engineering.
The Reliability and Durability group teaches and researches in the field of embodiment design, espacially on technology selection and design optimisation. The focus is on designs to reduce material use, cost and environmental impact. With investigations on product development with new materials, such as plastics, natural materials, etc. and with new technologies such as, nano, aerospace and agro, the design process is explored and design guidelines are formulated. |

Designing products & services for the emerging markets - Student Projects
Designing Products & Services for Emerging Markets (used synonymously with the term "Bottom-of-the-Pyramid" or "Base-of-the-Pyramid", BoP) is an active topic within our faculty of Industrial Design Engineering at Delft, with a large number of students (and staff) involved either in Graduation, Internship and PhD projects. A meeting with all the involved was held on 9 September to meet, get to know and learn from each other.
You can read the opening talk here, which is an introduction to this topic.
For more information contact Dr. Kandachar

Visual FX Presentation
We had a lecture room packed with students and employees attending a lunch presentation about Visual FX, by Yvette Bogaert and Egi van der Veeken, GE Plastics. Very useful, for example, for the Design 3 course in which students design hand-held consumer products.
