Biography

Suzanne Hiemstra-van Mastrigt studied Industrial Design Engineering at Delft University of Technology with a specialization in automotive design. After graduating (cum laude) in 2008, she started working at an ergonomics consultancy company, specializing in command and control rooms and interface design. She is currently working as a research scientist at TNO where she studies New Ways of Work and its effects on productivity and health. She is also a PhD candidate at Delft University of Technology. Her research topic is vehicle interiors (in airplanes, trains, buses and cars) that comfortably support different tasks and activities. This will facilitate knowledge workers to work during travel and hence increase their productivity and reduce traffic congestion.
