Ir. H. Anderiesen (Hester)
PhD candidate
Industrial design (ID)
Biography
Hester Anderiesen studied Industrial Design Engineering at Delft University of Technology. In her master Design for Interaction she worked on several projects that focussed on user experience and motivation for healthy behaviour. During her graduation project she designed a user aware system that contributed to the elders’ sense of security by enabling social control amongst independently living elderly.
After her studies she initiated a PhD project in collaboration with the department of Clinical Neuropsychology at the VU University Amsterdam. After one year they joined one of the CRISP projects; g-motiv. With fellow researchers Ellis Bartholomeus and Niko Vegt she is interested in design for motivation and changing human behaviour by using game elements in human-product interactions. In a team with several care organisations, game developing companies and research institutes she aims after improvement of activity behaviour of older persons, with and without dementia, residing in the nursing home environment.
