Biography

I am Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial Design Engineering, in the Section Design Aesthetics chaired by prof. Hekkert. My background is in industrial design, and in 2002 I published my PhD thesis titled ‘designing emotions.’ Since then, I’ve continued my study of emotions in the human-product relationship. My main interest in understanding why and how consumer products evoke emotion, and in the development of tools and methods that facilitate emotion-driven design. I am general IDE PhD representative, and board member of the International Design & Emotion Society.
